Information That You Voluntarily Provide
We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) unless you choose to provide it to us. If you provide us with personally identifiable information, for example, by creating a user account (also referred to as Career Management Account), sending an e-mail or by filling out a form and submitting it through our Web site, we use that information to respond to your message and to help us provide you with the information and services that you request. In addition, the email address provided as part of the account creation process will be used as the account identifier. This personally identifiable information including but not limited to email address, contact information, name, zip code, test scores, education credentials, resumes, etc. will be securely transmitted and stored in an encrypted manner in the VCN system. The PII will not be released to any third party unless it is specifically authorized by you. We make every effort to disclose clearly how information is used at the point where it is collected so you can determine whether you wish to provide the information.
Submitting voluntary information constitutes your consent to the use of the information for the stated purpose. When you click the “Submit” button on any of the Web forms found on our sites, you are indicating your voluntary consent to use of the information you submit for the purpose stated.
Single session cookies are temporarily stored on your computer and are deleted as soon as you close your web browser. Multi-session cookies are used for the purpose of web measurement, and to improve your online experience by remembering your online interactions and preferences across multiple sessions, and identify if you are a returning user. None of the information stored in either single session or multi-session cookies used by VCN contain any personally identifiable information. Information collected for web measurement is stored and maintained indefinitely for the purpose of historical web measurement and tracking.
If you prefer not to have non-personally identifiable persistent multi-session cookies stored on your computer you can opt out by not creating an account or signing in. Doing so may affect access to some resources on the VCN site.
Or, you can remove or block the use of multi-session web measurement technologies by changing the settings of your browser as described at USA.gov’s web measurement and customization opt-out web page .

Links to Other Sites
The Virtual Career Network was created to support public access to information about careers and occupations, related education and training, and available jobs. Some of the information was created by other public and private organizations and is the responsibility of these organizations. The accuracy of the information for individual occupations is subject to error because of the many factors that affect the economy over time. While occupational projections and related job outlook information can provide valuable inputs to the career decision-making process, they should not be the sole basis of a career choice.
Further, the inclusion of links to particular items or sites is not intended to reflect their importance, nor is it intended to endorse any views expressed or products or services offered by the author of the reference or the organization operating the server on which the reference is maintained.
